We launched our new Clothes Swap pilot with the slogan “I don’t shop I swap!”
Fekir and sons showed others (below left) how to play Mancala – one of the oldest board games in the world – originating from Africa. Whilst Fatema explained to a member (below right) how our new Clothes Swap pilot worked. Marina, our wonderful cook, prepared a fabulously tasty hot traditional Shepherds Pie full of vegetables on what was a bitterly cold day outside. Lots of games and creative arts activities.
54 residents (17 local families with 37 children and young people) participated.
Much interest was expressed in Mend & Repair workshops and 2 people came forward to offer to take on volunteer leadership roles.
