Themed activity days at the London Canal Museum
34 families & children went on canal boat trips on the Regents Park Canal with guide to help spot all the wild life
We learnt at the London Canal Museum that ice in the 18th and 19th centuries was brought from Norway loaded onto canal barges to be brought along the Regents Canal to be stored at the museum. The ice house was built by Carlo Gatti who used it to make ice cream. He became a very rich man! On the first trip we created our very own Nature Crown! We were inspired by our boat trip along the Regents Canal and in looking at the wildlife and nature we saw. Back at the museum we created images, cut, colour and stick onto our own crown to take home and keep. In the second trip we designed and constructed our own boats and tested them out on the canal– most floated, a few sunk! On both boat trips we looked through binoculars and ticked off all the wildlife using spotter cards and had an onboard teacher to help us with all the names.
Visiting the Octonauts at Kew Gardens
21 families & children went on a trip to see the Octonauts at Kew Gardens and take part in a story trail
We had a fun filled day in the beautiful Kew Gardens.
The children completed challenges and learnt new fun facts on an inter-active trail. Great Adventure.
We joined the Octonauts on an exciting outdoor mission. Some honeybees had lost their home, and it was up to the Octonauts, with our children’s help through a series of finding, learning and making installations, children searched for the bees, built them a new hive, and helped get them there safely. Perfect for young children aged 3–6 and our families. The interactive trail invited young explorers to complete fun challenges, discover amazing facts, and learn how to protect our planet.
Zoonormous Easter Egg Hunt
31 families & children went on an Easter Hunt inside London Zoo
We were welcomed by Emma Worthington, the zoo’s community engagement officer who gave an introductory talk. We were able to use their community space as our base for the afternoon, where we ate our packed lunches and had refreshments. Children and their families created unforgettable memories exploring the zoo on a special Easter Egg Hunt. It was a lovely Spring sunny day though a little cool

London Zoo’s Zoonormous Egg Hunt!
We searched high and low for six giant Easter eggs hidden around the grounds. Each egg revealed a secret letter, encouraging curious minds to work together to uncover the code hidden throughout the Zoo. We then headed to the main lawn to claim our tasty treat, and celebrate ZSL’s 200th anniversary by visiting the new Heritage Exhibition on the lawn. Children then took part in a creative arts and crafts activity, decorating their very own Easter Bunny crown.
Pond Dipping for tadpoles & frogs at Camley St Nature Park
19 families & children took part in a Pond Dipping workshop with Sam Hills from the Wild Life Trust
Sam Hills from the London Wild Life Trust helped us explore this wonderful nature park with activities including using nets to look at animals found in the pond and looking under logs to see what minibeasts we could find. After the session we ate our packed lunches in the Visitor Centre education room.
Play in the Park
15 families and children took part in our Play in the Park in the English Gardens within glorious Regents Park
